More Figure Work

I love collage and paint. I have been integrating the figure into my work the last several months and am pleased with the results.

New Work Old Work

Wow. Amazing. Reorganizing the studio and it turns out that I have paintings that I'd forgotten about. Here's a cubist piece I discovered. Also, another new collage painting from the series I am working on now.

New work.

Summertime. A break from teaching and a chance to make some work. Bringing together collage, paint, and some figure drawing to create some interesting mixed media pieces.

New Year - New Art

Happy New Year. One of the tasks I give my beginning drawing class at the end of the semester involves creating a cubist drawing of a still life. A fun project that moves them away from representational realism to abstraction where flatness mingles with the illusion of 3D and forms are plastic. I usually do a demo drawing and it brings me back to my love of collage and Cubist imagery. My drawing students also do a self portrait which I always enjoy. All three drawings were done this year.
