Warm Weather Makes Paint Dry Faster

A Dish of Pears, 2009, Oil on Canvas, 11" x 14"

I like warm weather for many reasons but when it comes to painting in oils, the warmth makes the paint dry faster and I can get more work done. Here's a piece I started a year ago and finally got back to and finished today.

Self Portrait, 2007, Acrylic on vinyl, 12" x 12"

Here's a self portrait I created a couple of years ago. It's painted on an old LP.

A Painting A Month

Ok. What's the deal with creating "A Painting A Day"? If I could have that kind of discipline, or sheer painting speed, I'd be rich. I'm lucky if I can finish a painting a month. I'm not going to show you any of Duane Keiser's paintings because this is my blog and I want to show you my paintings. But do use the link above to check out his site. His work is nice.

Here's a painting I've been working on the last few weeks.

It's titled Slipper with Ball, an oil painting on canvas. 12" x 12".

Sometimes when I do a painting of a thing, any old thing, I appreciate what an enjoyable endeavor painting is. To see more work go to my website www.marknobriga.com and if you are interested, send me an email.
